Product Description
The Honda/Acura Immobilizer anti-theft system uses a low-power
transponder mounted in the head of the ignition key. When the
vehicle is started, the Key Cylinder Module converts the transpon-
der signal and sends a secure, coded signal to the Engine Control
Module. If the signal to the Engine Control Module is correct, the
vehicle will start.
The 556H uses a unique auto-program sequence to learn the secure
code from the Key Cylinder Module and repeats it when remote start
is activated, eliminating the need to leave a key in the vehicle.
The 556H Honda/Acura Immobilizer Bypass Module integrates into
the wiring for the Honda/Acura immobilizer anti-theft system to
allow remote start capability, while still allowing normal function
of the factory immobilizer anti-theft system.
WARNING! It is recommended that the 556H Immobilizer
Bypass Module only be installed by an authorized
Directed dealer. Attempting installation without the
proper tools and training can result in damage to the
vehicle electronics.
Pre-Installation Test
IMPORTANT! Wire connections from the 555H to the
Honda/Acura immobilizer wires should be done AFTER
all remote start connections are completed and the fol-
lowing test is successful.

vehicle key into the ignition switch. Do NOT turn the ignition on.
Activate the remote start.
If the vehicle remote starts, proceed with the 556H installation.
If the vehicle fails to start, check all ignition and tachometer con-
nections and retest. Do NOT proceed with 556H installation until
this test is successful.
A successful test verifies that all ignition and tachometer con-
nections are correct. This will eliminate the remote start as the
cause of a failure to start after completing the 556H installation.
Installation Instructions
1. Remove steering column shroud to gain access to the wire har-
nesses at the rear of the ignition switch.
2. Locate the appropriate wires exiting the ignition switch and
immobilizer receiver. The wire colors are listed in the Wire
Color Guide.
3. Wire the 556H as shown in the wiring diagram.

Wire Connection Guide
■ BLACK: Connect this wire to a quality chassis ground (prefer-
ably scraped sheet metal) separate from other component
ground locations.
■ RED: Connect this wire to a constant (+)12 volt source.
■ PINK: Connect this wire to the Ignition output from the ECM.
■ PINK/BLACK: Connect this wire to the Ignition input from the
ignition switch.
■ YELLOW/BLACK: For mode 1 Connect this wire to data wire that
connects from the ECM to the Ignition switch, for mode 2
connect this wire to the Data wire from the Ignition switch.
■ YELLOW: Connect this wire to the same data wire listed above for
mode 1, for mode 2 connect this wire to the Data wire from the
ECM.
■ ORANGE: Not Connected
■ ORANGE/BLACK: Not Connected for mode 1, for mode 2 this wire
is connected to the Data 2 wire that connects the Ignition
switch and the ECM.
■ BLUE/WHITE: Connect this wire to the remote starter.
■ GREEN: Connect this wire to pin 1 at the ignition switch.
Programming Instructions
1. Depress the programming button while inserting the wire
harness into the connector.
2. Release the programming button once the LED illuminates.
3. Turn the ignition to the On position.
4. Ensure that the module is in the correct mode by counting the
LED flashes (i.e. 1 flash = mode 1).
5. Press the program button to switch between modes 1 and 2.
6. Once the mode is selected, turn the ignition Off.
7. Turn the ignition back On and the LED will illuminate con-
firming that the module has been programmed.
8. Turn the Ignition Off, remove the key and initiate the remote
start sequence.
NOTE: You must use the BLACK master key to complete the pro-
gramming procedure.
Troubleshooting
With Ignition On
1. LED flashing rapidly = module programmed, but not activated
by input.
2. LED On (constant) = module not programmed.
With Remote Start
1. LED On (constant) = activated by remote start in mode 1.
2. LED Off = activated by remote start in mode 2.
